Casefiles for escape-room newcomers, regular teams and amateur hosts — answers stay sealed until you ask.

Who Assembles the Casefiles

A small independent desk of players, game-night hosts and puzzle writers who believe the best clue is the one you could have seen all along.

What we do

VorkadScandiPuzzle publishes method guides for escape rooms and mystery challenges: how to observe, decode, deduce and design. We write for three readers at once — the nervous first-timer, the team that plays monthly and wants to get better, and the host building a game at home.

Every guide returns to one idea: keep observation, interpretation and proof apart. It is the habit that turns guessing into solving, and it is the same habit that makes a designer's clue chain fair.

The site is published by Vorkad Casefile Media Ltd, a small independent company registered in England and Wales.

How we write a practice puzzle

Each one is drafted, then solved cold by an editor who has not seen it. If they need a guess or outside knowledge, the puzzle goes back. Hints are written in tiers — a nudge, a connection, then the answer — and checked so no early hint gives the game away.

Our sources and corrections

Historical notes — from Suetonius on Caesar's cipher to the work at Bletchley Park and the origins of SCRAP's Real Escape Game in Kyoto — are checked against published histories and museum material. Safety guidance points to public regulations rather than our own opinion.

If you spot an error, a puzzle with two valid answers or a hint that reveals too much, please leave us a note. Corrections are made promptly and dated.
